Kourosh is an Iranian-Dutch producer and vocalist who effortlessly blends alternative pop, rock, indie, dance, and hip hop into a sound that is entirely his own. You may know him as the producer behind music for Sophie Straat and Milo Driessen (Goldband), but on 2 October he will release his long-awaited debut album, Bah Bah.
On Bah Bah, Kourosh tells the story of his family's escape from Iran in the early 1990s as they fled towards the Netherlands. Inspired by the pop rock and dance music of the '90s, he intertwines deeply personal memories with sounds from the journey itself: snippets of Iranian radio broadcasts and even a song performed in German, paying tribute to the period during which his mother and sister were stranded in Germany while making their way to the Netherlands before eventually escaping.
Across his previous EPs and singles, Kourosh has explored themes of migration, loss, resilience, and love. Renowned for his electrifying live performances, he draws audiences into a world of frenzy, heartbreak, longing, and hope.
His latest singles, Icarus (featuring Sophie Straat / NMF) and For You, received critical acclaim from 3FM and 3voor12. On 10 October, Kourosh will celebrate the release of Bah Bah with a full-band album show at Paradiso's Upstairs Hall in Amsterdam.
